Josh Harder is a first-term Member from the central portion of California and includes Stanislaus County and southern San Joaquin County. He defeated an incumbent Republican by 52%-48% in an upset.
Since entering the House, he has accumulated a virtually perfect voting record on nuclear arms control and other national security issues.
Harder graduated from Stanford University with degrees in political science and economics, as well as a joint MBA/MPP from Harvard Business School and Kennedy School of Government. Prior to entering Congress, he was a venture capitalist and educator.
In the House, he serves on the House Agriculture, and Education and Labor committees.
