1. How We Use Information You Provide

We use this information to operate this site, support the Council for a Livable World campaign, send you news and information about Council for a Livable World, and to credit those who are organizing support for Council for a Livable World. We will not sell this information to any third party, under any circumstances. We work closely with candidates, parties and allied like-minded organizations and may disclose selected user information to other campaigns or organizations for their use in campaign activities and other purposes.

Online Contributions

We are sometimes required to disclose information regarding our contributions to comply with campaign finance laws. For example, under Federal Election law, we are required to make periodic filings that provide the Federal Election Commission with information on each contributor: name, address, amount of contribution, date of contribution, employer, and occupation. “Send to a Friend” Feature makes it easy for you to spread the word about Council for a Livable World with its “Send to a Friend” feature. When you use “Send to a Friend”, we may store email addresses or any information about the people you contact.

The Chain Reaction Blog

On our blog, you may post comments and messages for others to read. We may collect technical information about your post, such as the IP address from which you posted, and associate this information with your messages. Even if messages are deleted, we may retain copies and attendant information indefinitely. When you post messages to the blog, certain registration information, such as your email address, may be available to the public. Also note that any personal information you include in the body of your message will be available to the public.

Children’s Information

We believe every precaution must be taken to protect children online. In accordance with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we do not ask children under 18 for any information, nor do we knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18.

Although we make good faith efforts to store information collected by in a secure operating environment, we cannot guarantee complete security.
