A former public school teacher and education non-profit leader, Greg Landsman unseated a GOP incumbent who had held Ohio’s 1st Congressional District for all but two of the past 28 years.
Prior to running for Congress in 2022, Rep. Landsman served as a member of the Cincinnati city council.
Redistricting ordered by the Ohio Supreme Court made the district much more favorable for Landsman by including the entire city of Cincinnati for the first time. This shifted the district from Trump +3 to Biden +8.5. There could be a new round of redistricting before the 2024 election.
Landsman serves on the House Committee on Small Business and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
Landsman strongly supports adoption of a “no first use” policy and ensuring that we make smart investments that meaningfully add to our national security. He believes that we should pursue mutual arms reduction through bilateral talks in the face of 21st century threats. He advocates for strengthening our capacity for diplomacy and pursuing it in order to improve ties.
