Jeff Jackson is running for office in North Carolina’s new 14th Congressional District. North Carolina redrew its congressional map following the 2020 census which added one seat to the Tar Heel State’s House delegation, but the map may be redrawn again in 2023. Jackson’s district is a Biden +16 district and overlaps with much of his state senate district.
Jackson enlisted in the Army after the attacks of September 11 and served for a year in Afghanistan. He continues to serve today as a Major in the Army National Guard. Jackson attended law school at UNC-Chapel Hill with help from the G.I. bill, before serving as the assistant district attorney in Gaston County. He became the second youngest state senator in 2014.
Jackson has focused on education, healthcare and climate change. Specifically, he has advocated for renewable energy and immediate climate action.
Jackson opposes the development of new nuclear weapons and is committed to strengthening the non-proliferation regime and advocating for further negotiations on reducing global nuclear stockpiles.
