Congressman Joe Neguse was elected to his first term in November 2018, becoming the first African-American member of Congress in Colorado history. Council for a Livable World has supported Rep. Neguse in each of his elections so far.
In March of 2024, he was unanimously elected by his colleagues in the House Democratic Caucus to serve as the Assistant Minority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives.
He also serves as a member of the House Judiciary Committee, the House Rules Committee, and the House Natural Resources Committee, where he is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Federal Lands.
Rep. Neguse had a perfect voting record on Council issues last year and is a solid favorite for reelection.
