Mike Levin was first elected to Congress in 2018, winning 56-43% to take a seat that had been a conservative stronghold in California for close to a century. Council for a Livable World was proud to endorse him in that race as well as in his 2020 and 2022 reelections.
Congressman Levin has established himself as a leader on climate action and clean energy, serving on the House Natural Resources Committee and House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, where he serves as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. He introduced legislation to transition the nation to zero-emission vehicles, expand renewable energy development, and prevent future offshore oil drilling.
He knows that our national security involves much more than just possessing more nuclear weapons, and he has voted to pause the new and outrageously expensive replacement intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) until Congress can get the full picture on alternatives and the future of U.S. nuclear posture.
Before Congress, Levin worked as an attorney focused on environmental and energy regulatory compliance and government affairs.
California’s 2022 redistricting created a much more competitive district, but Rep. Levin was able to outperform expectations. We hope to help him continue this momentum in 2024.
