Friend,
President Trump shockingly won Wisconsin in 2016. But in 2018, we have a chance to help these Wisconsin national security progressives win their elections and push back against President Trump’s most dangerous national security policies.
Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D) faces a vicious campaign against the collective forces of right-wing groups. Powerful special interests and billionaire donors have already spent more than $10 million to defeat her, the most in the country. Baldwin is a strong voice for a smart and principled approach on national security.
Randy Bryce (D-WI-01) challenged Speaker Paul Ryan last year despite the fact that few Speakers have ever lost re-election. That daring run was a factor in Ryan’s announced retirement. Bryce is a U.S. Army veteran, cancer survivor and union ironworker who will vote for progressive national security policies, while Ryan has been blatantly unwilling to challenge Trump’s hawkish policies.
Dan Kohl (D-WI-06) has a good chance to defeat one of the most hawkish Members of Congress, Rep. Glenn Grothman (R). Kohl grew up and raised his family in Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District. The incumbent voted against the Iran nuclear agreement and for limiting funds to implement the New START Treaty, but Kohl supports both agreements and believes that diplomacy must always come first. |
Thank you for getting involved in these crucial races!
