Defeat extremist Corey Stewart

Friend,

One of the country’s most extreme candidates for the Senate recently won his primary to take on Council-endorsed Sen. Tim Kaine (D) in Virginia.

Corey Stewart, who once served as the Virginia state chair of President Trump’s 2016 campaign, holds abhorrent views.

Stewart has campaigned against the removal of Confederate statues in Charlottesville, Va., and has blamed “both sides” for violence committed by white supremacists. Stewart has boasted that he would “run a very vicious and ruthless campaign against Tim Kaine and I’m going to win.”

At Council for a Livable World, we focus on advancing progressive national security policies. Tim Kaine, a longtime endorsee, exemplifies a principled Senator who consistently pushes back against the Trump Administration’s most dangerous national security policies. Corey Stewart would be exactly the opposite — a rubberstamp for anything President Trump wants, including a reckless pursuit of new nuclear weapons.

Will you help Tim Kaine defeat this extremist candidate in November? We can’t let Corey Stewart become a United States Senator.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

John Tierney
Executive Director
Council for a Livable World
Member of Congress (former) 1/3/1997-1/3/2015
