As we stand (hopefully) near the end of a long journey toward a final deal with Iran, it’s only fitting to honor someone who has been there from the start.
Laura Rozen was the reporter to first break the story about the Iran nuclear talks through a secret channel over two years ago, back when the U.S. and Iran weren’t even speaking to one another.
We are so pleased to honor Laura Rozen with the 2015 Father Robert F. Drinan Award, for her steadfast commitment to these historic negotiations.
Over the years, Rozen has taken the stories of sleep-deprived diplomats, hashing out complex details of a sophisticated nuclear program, throughout endless talks, in hotels far away, and brought them to the front page for every American.
In a society where the media all-too-often fixates on war, Laura has given us access to the negotiating room, where a wonderfully human story and a feat of diplomacy takes place.
Consider a contribution to the Drinan Awards and help Council for a Livable World celebrate the tireless work of Laura Rozen.
