Jersey City Independent Covers the Council’s Endorsement of Mayor Cory Booker & Rep. Rush Holt

Council For a Livable World Likes Two of the Democratic Primary Candidates for US Senate Opening

The Council For a Livable World has endorsed two of the Democratic primary candidates vying for the late Frank Lautenberg’s Senate seat ahead of the August 13 primary election. Citing their progressive approaches to a myriad of issues, the Council said they can back both Newark Mayor Corey Booker and Congressman Rush Holt.

“Mayor Booker and Congressman Holt have shown a true commitment to pursuing a common sense national security policy that reduces the expenditure of taxpayer dollars on wasteful and outdated nuclear weapons,� John Isaacs, executive director of Council for a Livable World, said in a statement.

While the Council had previously endorsed Holt, this is the first time they’ve backed Booker.
