Important Election Deadline on Thursday

June 30th, at 11:59 PM, we will have reached the end of the 2nd Quarter in the 2012 election cycle, a key marker for judging the strength of political campaigns. We are asking you at this critical time to contribute to six crucial Senate races.

Republicans need to win only four seats to take control of the Senate. And the odds are stacked in their favor. The numbers are clear: Democrats must defend 23 seats, while the GOP is defending only 10.

Please consider a donation before this important deadline.

Some of the top Republican targets are the arms control candidates in swing states that we are asking you to support –

Sherrod Brown of Ohio – a proud Democrat who is outspoken and unabashed in his support of progressive issues.

Bernie Sanders of Vermont – a fierce and fearless independent and progressive

Bob Casey of Pennsylvania – a Senator committed to smart foreign policy who was an effective leader in the fight for New START

Martin Heinrich of New Mexico – a young, bright and charismatic Democratic candidate, running for the open Senate seat in New Mexico.

Debbie Stabenow of Michigan – a Senator with a thoughtful and common sense approach to national security

Jon Tester of Montana – serving on the key Energy and Water Subcommittee that appropriates non-proliferation program funding and running in a neck-and-neck contest.

We are urging you to give now to these candidates before the end-of-quarter deadline. At the end of the day Thursday, candidates will report their latest fundraising totals to the Federal Election Commission. A strong financial showing is one of the most important predictors of success in the election.

Every seat is important and we know what the stakes are. Can we count on you to show that Council supporters want to defend arms-control candidates?

Please consider a contribution of $25, $50, or more today.
Thank you for your interest and involvement in key Senate campaigns
