Progressives Grow Their Ranks in the House

Democrats were disappointed in their attempt to win back control of the House of Representatives last night. However, there is a silver lining in that dark cloud: a number of strong progressives were elected across the country and a number of incumbent Representatives who are leaders of the progressive movement beat back tough challengers.

Of the 36 candidates endorsed by Council for Livable World’s PeacePAC for the House of Representatives. 22 won, 10 lost and 4 are locked in races too close to call.
Council for a Livable World donors contributed over $550,000 to House candidates during this election. Many of these races were decided by only a few thousand votes.

Check out a race by race breakdown under the fold.
