Council for a Livable World Applauds Passage of the Afghanistan Amendment to NDAA

“After more than a decade of war and billions of dollars, Congress has finally decided to end the war,� said John Isaacs, executive director of Council for a Livable World. “For the first time, a majority of the U.S. House of Representatives supports an accelerated removal of American troops from Afghanistan by 2014.�

Council for a Livable World Rebukes Lamborn Amendments that Weaken U.S. National Security

“With his performance this week, Congressman Lamborn once again displayed his fealty to a Cold War-era mindset,� said John Isaacs, executive director of Council for a Livable World. “His reckless amendments seek to protect funding for an ill-conceived, mismanaged, and unaffordable nuclear weapons program at the direct expense of effective nuclear terrorism prevention and nuclear surveillance programs that address the real threats of the 21st century.�
