The Council for a Livable World, a non-partisan advocacy organization focused on reducing the threat of nuclear proliferation and international conflict, has endorsed Oregon House Speaker Jeff Merkley for U.S. Senate.

Council for a Livable World today praised Senator Barack Obama for his pledge to pursue a world without nuclear weapons and improve U.S.-Russian relations.

Council for a Livable World released today a statement responding to this week’s congressional testimony by General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker. President Bush is expected to endorse Petraeus and Crocker’s policy recommendations in a prime time speech later this evening.
